Gomoku, or also called “Five in a Row” originates from Go - a popular chess game that is especially famous in China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. The first form of playing Gomoku was similar to that of Go: played on a checkerboard and round black and white chess pieces called “stones”. Because of its simplicity and collecting stones from losing opponents rule does not exist, Gomoku can be played on paper with pens for more convenience.
