Description
The original print of this design was a unique, experimental woodcut as part of my Hoi An series in 2019. Using the different woodcut print layers and a mirror reflection effect, I created this composition of an ice cream lady riding her cart down a main street in Hoi An old town. I tried to use bright colours that Hoi An is known for and also borrow a palette commonly seen in different flavours of ice cream to give the illusion of a hot day in town. You can hear the chimes of ice cream sellers on all corners Hoi An and every city in Vietnam.
