The fashion industry contributes upto 10% of total carbon emissions in the world, it also dries up water sources, and pollutes rivers and streams.
Kira Craft, a fashion and accessories brand from Vietnam is tackling this issue head on. The founder, Ms. Minh Lap decided to start working with seagrass as a key material for products made by Kira. The plant is eco-friendly and has been grown by the Vietnamese for decades.
With knowledge of seagrass material, Kira manufactures seagrass bags that are handcrafted by skillful craftsmen from traditional craft villages in Vietnam. Each seagrass/ bamboo bag is meticulously designed and tested thoroughly before reaching the hands of customers.
By choosing seagrass products the brand aims to educate the younger generations about Vietnam's rich heritage and culture and encourage them to lead a more sustainable lifestyle.
