2. Instructions:
The ideal water temperature for brewing oolong tea is around 90-95°C.
- Step 1: Rinse your teapot with hot water to warm it up
- Step 2: Use a bamboo or wooden spoon to add about 1/5 to 1/6 of the teapot with tea leaves. (Oolong tea leaves don't like being touched by hands!)
- Step 3: Pour hot water over the leaves and swirl gently. Pour this water out right away. This "wakes up" the leaves and helps release their flavor.
- Step 4: Pour fresh hot water over the leaves and let it steep for 30-40 seconds. Then, pour the tea into your cups.
3. Notes:
- Don't mix with milk: Milk can interfere with the heart-healthy compounds in oolong tea.
- Keep it warm: After pouring out the tea, leave the lid open to let the leaves cool. You can add more hot water later.
- Adjust the strength: For a stronger brew, use more tea leaves. But don't over-steep!
- Gentle pouring: Pour the water gently to keep the leaves from swirling around too much. This helps make the tea clearer.
- Use a clear teapot: Glass or porcelain teapots are great for seeing the tea and are easy to clean.
3. Preservation
