Chus note
Ageratum Conyzoides name in Vietnam is "hoa cứt lợn", which means "pig feces", due to its growing in dirty areas. In their traditional medicine, it has good medicinal properties and is often used to treat sinusitis or improve the health of women after giving birth.
Special note
1. Uses:
Specific remedy for sinusitis, allergic rhinitis: relieve nasal congestion with very pleasant aroma; anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous and antimicrobial; stimulate nasal mucous membrane secretion; expel green, yellow pus remaining in the sinuses and nasal cavity; reduce sinusitis, allergic rhinitis gradually and then cure them.
2. Instruction:
- Method 1: Nasal drops
Add 5-6 drops of Ageratum conyzoides essential oil to 10ml of 0.9% physiological saline, shake well, drop 2-3 drops into each nostril, three times a day; may drop some drops into the mask to inhale when going out.
- Method 2: Nasal spray
Purchase a Xisat nasal spray (whose top can be opened), may reuse an old bottle; add 0.9% physiological saline and about 20 drops of Ageratum conyzoides essential oil to the bottle; shake well, spray 2-3 times into each nostril, three times a day.
- Method 3: Steam inhalation
Add 5-7 drops of Ageratum conyzoides essential oil to a cup of hot water; fold a thick paper into a conical shape, with a small hole at the bottom, place it over the cup; hold a nostril closed and inhale deeply with the other nostril so that the essential oil goes through the small hole of the conical-shaped paper; inhale for 5-10 minutes a day.
3. Importants:
- As the essential oil does not dissolve in water, SHAKE WELL before use (method 1 and method 2) so that the essential oil becomes well-mixed in the saline, avoiding burning and increasing its effectiveness.
- For about the first three days, you may suffer from rhinorrhoea, because the essential oil stimulates secretion and gets rid of bacteria, rhinorrhoea will recede gradually. Hence, you should follow the treatment process patiently from 10 to 14 days (if you suffer from a severe sinusitis, then it will take longer). You should not stop halfway.
- Store in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Dilute rather than drink this essential oil directly, follow dosage instructions and do not abuse it.
- Avoid contact with eyes, open wounds and sensitive skin.
- Pregnant women and children under 2 years old should consult a doctor before using this essential oil.
