In 2015, Danish entrepreneur Frantz Byrch Pedersen came to Vietnam searching for bamboo for his "Not Just a Bottle" project and immediately fell in love with the culture, food, and people. However, the alarming reality of plastic pollution - Hong Kong's 6 million plastic bottles discarded daily and Vietnam where 75% of waste ends in landfills—compelled him to act.
"Not Just Plastic" was established in 2018 as a social impact initiative, featuring handcrafted sunglasses made from 100% recycled plastic in Vietnam. The brand delivers not just stylish accessories but powerful symbols of sustainable living.
They've created a circular economy for plastic waste through partnerships with 10 schools, 125 F&B partners, and hotels, transforming seemingly worthless materials into creative inspiration.
