ChinLan Scarf Store's #LongLanQuyLoan scarfs collection is researched, designed, and inspired by ancient motifs in the book Textures in Annamite Fine Arts (Les Motifs de L'art Annamite) by author l. Cadière, translated from Duc Chinh. Four images include Long, Lan, Quy, and Loan that in turn meaning the Vietnamese Dragon, the Unicorn, the Turtle, and the Phoenix. These symbolize four spirits and elements that forming heaven and earth in the ancient Vietnamese.

1. Long: The dragon in Vietnamese is Long (龍) which is very popular in art decoration. The Annamites saw the dragon as a patron god, so the image of the dragon is ubiquitous.
2. Lan: In the past, Lan was called a unicorn or a dragon-horse. People believe that Lan is loyal, peaceful, and benevolent. That's why it is the guardian of villages and temples. The Unicorn always carries an antique on his back whenever he appears.
3. Quy means Turtle is one of the four spirits, symbolizing longevity because it lives over a thousand years.
