About Touched.studio
A safe and colorful world of hemp dolls awaits your discovery at touched.studio. Coming to that world, you will feel the beauty of traditional weaving and the non-stop creativity of Vietnamese people.
Born at the end of 2018, touched.studio is the result of careful research and understanding of safe and sustainable fabrics of Hanh Nguyen - the founder of the brand. As a young designer who loves the environment, she wants to find an eco-friendly, pure Vietnamese, and easy to apply in life fabric. After 3 years of traveling throughout the provinces from North to Central, a chance helped her discover an ancient fabric of the ethnic people. Material is soft and safe enough but not easy to manufacture. From that discovery, she hopes to be able to revive that fabric and apply it to contemporary products.
Unlike other hemp fabrics, the hemp fabrics that are touched.studio used for making dolls take 2 years and 200 steps to create, a legacy of the Mong people living in the mountainous areas of northern Vietnam. Besides, dolls are stuffed from organically grown cotton by Giay and Muong people. This cotton is grown naturally, without the use of pesticides or any harmful chemicals.
The brand had to go through 24 steps from design, cutting, and embroidery to bring a finished product. All production steps are handmade. Therefore, it requires care, ingenuity, and especially the love of the artisans who make them.
With the motto "From Seed to Doll", the brand wishes to convey the most rustic and idyllic beauty of this unique hemp fabric to customers. Because the beauty is inherent in this material and in the love of ethnic minority artisans who plant seeds, spin yarn, weave and dye them into unique hemp fabrics.
