Thuy Bieu Commune, located 6 km southwest of Hue Citadel, has long been famous for its agricultural products. No one in Thuy Bieu knows exactly when Thanh Tra pomelo appeared in the ancient capital. They only know when Minh Vuong Nguyen Phuc Chu, the 6th Nguyen Lord saw the charming countryside during a trip on the Huong River. So he visited the village. The local people gave him fascinating fruits to enjoy. Lord Nguyen was surprised at the deliciousness of Thanh Tra pomelo. From then, he ordered the villagers to expand and plant more.
Gradually it became a custom.
