A Lacquer Painting from Nghe Atelier can become a highlight for your living room space.
Crafted from natural materials such as wood and bamboo. Products are covered with layers of lacquer and polish. The process of creating a Lacquer Painting requires a lot of time as well as effort and creativity.
The Lacquer Painting sets from Nghe Atelier are suitable for a vintage-style interior with warm main colors such as yellow, orange, red and brown.
Products need to order 1 week in advance to prepare.
- Hanging the Lacquer Paintings in a dry place, avoid high heat sources such as the stove, chimney-corner, and so on. Avoid direct sunlight. Because these causes will fade the paintings or make the frame warping.
- If using light to increase the effect, use a low-power bulb and place the bulb spaced paintings about 10cm.
- Note:
+ Avoid soaking the Lacquer Paintings in water.
+ Avoid chemical detergent or hot water to clean the paintings.
+ Avoid brushing hard when cleaning the paintings.

How to clean Lacquer Painting properly:
1. Using shower:
If your lacquer painting is too dirty, you could use a shower to clean it. Note that, don't have a strong impact on the lacquer.
2. Using potato:
Because the lacquered surface is smooth and easy to wipe off dust, all you need to do is use a peeled potato, cut it into slices and dab it lightly on the painting. The painting will shine again.
3. Using onion:
For stains, mold on lacquer paintings, you can use onion slices to rub a few times. Then, use a soft, damp cloth to wipe it clean.
4. Using soft cotton cloth:
When the painting is too dusty, sweep away the dust and wipe it with a soft cotton cloth. Avoid using a rough, dry cloth as it will scratch the lacquer.
Nghe Atelier, a local handicraft brand from Vietnam was founded by Phuong Vy. Having spent her early childhood days in Japan, Vy saw that Japanese villages were still preserving their traditional arts and crafts professions and the artform itself stood the test of time for centuries. She was drawn by this resilience towards traditional artforms because in Vietnamese villages traditional art professions were getting more scarce.
Vy therefore founded Nghe Atelier, where she could promote traditional handicrafts, specifically lacquer and ceramic, and preserve traditional Vietnamese handmade crafts and artforms.
Products by Nghe Atelier use traditional and locally sourced materials. Materials are sourced and chosen meticulously to ensure high quality and authenticity. In addition, products are signed with the artisan’s name, making each product uniquely marked.
