Seahorse Chess is a popular folk game in Vietnam as it’s simple and fun.
The Lumina Seahorse Chess board game from Mastermind was modernized from the traditional one. In this set, colors and materials play the main role of depicting the sophistication and polish of the product.

The game includes a chess board, two dice and 16 chess pieces, divided into 4 different sets (colors): blue, red, yellow and green.
How to play:
- Two to four people can participate in the game. Each person chooses a color and uses chess pieces of the same color. Everyone will take turns to play.
- The four big squares in the corners are the barn and the column of numbers from 1-6 is the destination. The goal of the game is to get the horse from the stable to said destination.
- Players are allowed to roll dice three times at the start of the game or when they have no chess piece on the race. The chess piece is allowed to leave its stable and get on the starting line when the dice result consists of “6”.
- The chess pieces will be moving based on the dice result. For example, if the result is 5, the horse will take 5 steps forward. If the player gets a pair of 1-6 or a twin pair, they get an extra turn.
- When approaching the finish line, the player must roll the correct number written on the destination for the chess piece to be moved. For example, the chess piece standing on square 2 still needs to get a dice result of 6 instead of 4 in order to be moved to square 6.
- The winner will be the one who gets 4 horses to the finish line on 6-5-4-3. The rest continue to play until the 2nd, 3rd and the losing one are decided.
- While moving the pieces, the players will encounter the following situations: "Blocked" or "Kick/Kicked".
+ Stop: If the dice result is greater than the distance between the selected chess piece and another one, the selected piece will stand still and lose its turn. If the player has more than one chess piece on the race, they still can move the ones that are not blocked.
+ Kick: If the dice result is equal to the distance between the selected piece and a different color chess piece, the selected piece will move to the corresponding position and kick the second mentioned back to the stable. The kicked piece needs to stay in the stable until the player gets a 6.
