How to make butterfly pea flower tea at home:
You just need to prepare dried pea flowers, hot water and spices you like. And you will be able to make a delicious and nutritious tea by yourself.
Ingredients:
- About 240ml of hot water
- 5 - 10 dried pea flowers
Instruction:
- Pour hot water into the tea cup.
- Place the pea leaves or flowers and brew them for about 15 minutes. You can see that the green color gradually dissolves in the water and the flowers and leaves turn into a beautiful indigo color.
- When the flowers or leaves have faded away, you can filter the tea to enjoy.
- You can drink it hot or add ice to a cold drink.
- You can add some flavors you like such as cinnamon, ginger, lemongrass or honey to a cup of tea.
More specifically, you can add lemon to watch the drink turn purple. If you like, you can also add some hibiscus flowers to the tea for a seductive bright red tea.

Note:
Despite having many health benefits, butterfly pea can also be harmful if used incorrectly. Although anthocyanin in butterfly pea flowers has an antioxidant effect it increases blood circulation and promotes uterine contraction. Hence it should be noted not to use for those who are:
- Pregnant.
- During menstruation .
- People who are taking anticoagulants and are preparing to have surgery should also not use the pea flower because it can affect clotting of the blood, etc.
Storage:
- Store in a dry place, below 30 degrees Celsius.
- Avoid direct sunlight

- Depending on the concoction, the butterfly pea tea will have a different taste. However, the most recognizable flavor of the butterfly tea is a sweet, mild and acrid taste on the tip of the tongue.
